Course Prerequisites

To maximize your chances of successfully completing this course, participants should preferably have:

Experience as Skipper: At least ten day sails under your belt.

Practical Application of the Basic Cruising Standard: Familiarity with the knowledge and skills outlined in the Basic Cruising Standard.

Consistent Skill Demonstration: The ability to consistently demonstrate the skills learned in the Basic Cruising Standard.

Additionally, the following prerequisites are required:

Recognized First Aid Certificate

VHF Radio Operator’s Certificate (can be challenged during the course)

Completed Basic Coastal Navigation Standard level

    • Layers: A fleece jacket, windbreaker, and sweater are advisable. During summer, rain gear may not be necessary, but it’s best to be prepared.
